Wanderings on various building materials led me to read an article on wikipedia about cob houses. And look at the pretty house I found a photo of! I want a round, pretty house like this! There’s something so appealing to me about the curvy, uneven edges. It just feels more homey, more organic. (sigh)

I’m totally falling in love with the Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. They have a video blog! This short, 2 minute video is about their soon-to-open Milkweed Mercantile, a combination eco-market and bed & breakfast, constructed from reclaimed lumber and strawbales. I really love that they’re actually building this place. Here’s the video: simple but lovely.

I can’t say how much I LOVE this home, built by a few people by hand in Wales. It’s small, it’s built with area materials and is…extremely unique. Here’s a photo of the exterior: Their site has tons of info about how they built the home, including plans and photos. Very cool.
